Another Campaign Find...

This armoire is my most recent campaign find. Obsessed? Not one bit.

I found it on craigslist, but it was just listed as a wood armoire. It seems that most of the time people don't know what campaign style furniture is, so you can get it for a great deal! The price was a little steep for me, but I offered half of what they were asking and they accepted my offer. I took my friend who was back from college for Thanksgiving with me just to be safe (thanks Madelyn!). Pairs are the way to go when it comes to craigslist.

4 Drawer Dresser with Blue and White Pulls

Before some paint and new hardware, this dresser was not looking too good.

The drawer pulls were falling off, the bottom needed to be nailed in, and the top needed to be put on. Most of those were easy fixes thanks to my dad, the fix-it guy. He can solve almost any problem!

Custom: Burnt Orange Plant Stand

I had a couple bring me this funky plant stand to paint. The original idea was to use it as a little side table, but when they went to the place where they bought it, it was taller than they expected. So, instead of a side table, they are using it as a plant stand in their entryway. (Sorry for the bad before picture).

Vintage Side Table

I got two side tables last week. I painted this one this weekend, but the other one needs some fixing before I can get to work on it.

Out of the two, this one is better quality. It is heavy, sturdy, and solid. Whoever had previously stained it had no clue what they were doing. The stain was dripped down the sides, and the protective coat had bubbles in it.

I sanded the table down, wiped it clean, then got to work. I used a very light grey color. The table needed 3 coats of paint to cover all the dark wood. I let it cure for 24 hours, then sealed the piece with SC Johnson Paste Wax. After waxing the table, I decided to distress the edges to show the layers around the top. I made sure to put on a little more wax over the places that were distressed, then I was finished!

I always seem to have an update on a finished piece on Sunday's or Monday's. It is because I get the weekend to work... and get more furniture!

Two-Toned Small Grey Bookshelf

Sometimes projects take a lot longer than I think. Like 3 months longer.
There is no before picture of this shelf. It was an antique shelf that was found at a garage sale. It has great character with all the curves and details.

The shelf frame, and the two shelves that go inside all got primed. Older stains can sometimes show through the paint, so it better to put in the work in the beginning then have to go back later. This started out as my mom's project, but after priming it sat for over a month. That's when it became my deal.

Blue Cabinet

I am really loving blues right now, and I thought this cabinet would look great with a new color I just got from Sherwin Williams. I almost forgot again to take a before picture, so I snapped some after I had sanded and started painting. The old record/radio cabinet came from a garage sale. Since it looked to be in bad condition, it did not sell during any of the multiple garage sales it was in. My uncle went back and picked the cabinet up after the sale was over since it was close to his house. You can see the top was stained and blotchy. Poor thing.

Midnight Mid-Century Nightstand

I am really mad at myself right now for not having a before picture of this little piece. I just completely forget in my excitement to paint. For the before, just imagine the nightstand with no paint, in a medium wood tone. It also had scratches, so imagine scratches.

Well, I got this little mid-century modern nightstand at goodwill. Months ago. Thats why I forgot to take a picture. For the past two months I take the picture right when I get something, but I did not do that with this mid century guy. I adore mid century furniture. It's just cool stuff.

New Find: Campaign Desk with Sawhorse legs

This is my latest find! To say I was excited when I found this on Craigslist is an understatement.

I have talked about my obsession with campaign furniture before. For some reason I am just drawn to it. I love the gold hardware. Those drawer pulls and brass corners are amazing.

Dresser with Wallpaper Top

You may have seen this dresser in this post, where I shared some of the unfinished projects that are waiting to be reinvented. My dad went and picked it up for me last week.

Pair of Grey Nightstands

I just finished these french provincial nightstands.

They were found at a thrift store... and were a matching pair. Have to say I was pretty excited for these babies. Before they were plain wood, and dying of a makeover. The top was peeling, which required sanding a couple of times.
